How is your summer going!???? I can’t believe that it’s the end of July!! Ayaya!! We have had a packed summer so far with some work, lots of fun and memories and home improvements!! It always feels good to check off a few things on the to do list when you get a little time off! I’m enjoying dressing for backyard bbq’s, birthday celebrations and brunch! So here’s a little ode to luau and all the magic that comes with them!
Loving a linen floral dress. It ALWAYS brings vacation vibes! Adding gold and a shade lighter metallic turqoise, a bit of white and everything comes together!! All I’m missing is the grass skirt!!
Try a simple long sarong or extra large scarf! Wrap around your waist for a long or short skirt by folding in half. Stripes, no matter the color, and white become a go to basic!! The pink went well with the colorful print! Staying on trend with a bit of macrame with the bag and for added texture my visor and sandals!
Add your own twist of luau with bright colorful cotton pants! Use a scarf as a top by tieing the bottom two corners of your scarf around your waist and the top two around your neck!

Summer time is meant for beach waves in your hair and care free adventures. Whether that means a road trip or a simple walk down the street, tees are the way to go! I thought I would jump on board with the band t-shirt trend, well really any great tee. T-shirts are wonderful for this time of the year seeing that most are cotton so they breath well and the styling opportunities are endless!! For those of you that don’t know I do enjoy gardening. Not for veggies but flowers!! I picked that up from my Pop. His thumb was the greenest! He had multiple flower and veggie gardens. When it’s to hot to garden but nice to appreciate all your hard work I love to wear a cotton t-shirt and enjoy the beauty of the flowers. This tee is from a local artist in Florida named Kasey Klein. The tee I have is a picture of her mural in Melbourne, FL. Her art work along with many other artists is what got me through a long visit with my mom while she was in the hospital this past spring…..Art IS Therapy. Her Amber T is the next on my list to get!!
Layering tee’s is versatile and can create new and fun looks. I scored this t-shirt from the Garlic and arts festival in Massachusetts last summer! I loved the vibe of the image and colors. Colors always draw me in. The minute I saw this tee I felt happy so that’s when I knew I needed to add it to my wardrobe.
What would a t-shirt post be with out some sort of team tee. Old Navy carries a large selection of team tee’s and at great prices. Mine is not available but this gray patriots tee is and would be a wonderful pairing with white jean shorts!
You all know how much I enjoy fashion and getting dressed up, however in the mid summer heat waves I like to put on a tee that is full of color with jean shorts and call it a day!
This Neubyrne tee is a perfect pairing for a little walk with nature. Put a scarf in your hair to tame the frizz, well at least thats why I did it…lol!! Between the scarf, shorts and tee the colors pull from one another and create the perfect match!!
A white tee can be the perfect back drop for a special accessory!!! These socks were the star of the show while grabbing a coffee at my favorite local coffee shop in Amherst Massachusetts!! If you didn’t know that is where I am originally from and frequent a LOT!!!
What would a tee post be without some sort of rainbow right!? To me rainbow is becoming a neutral in my closet! It pairs with ANY color so it is a necessity in my eyes!! Coach’s rainbow tee is a favorite and who better to pair it with then my son and photographer, Frankie!! I also love to purchase with purpose and at Coach they are donating to Hetrick-Martin Institute, GLSEN and Albert Kennedy trust who all create supportive environments where LGBTQ and young people can thrive!
Pick a tee that makes you smile, or buy for a cause and get creative with it. They are easy to match with shorts, biker shorts, jeans or a skirt. The great thing about tee’s is that they easily transition to the next season by layering!

With the fantastic warm weather comes a time to wear your brightsand pop!! As you put on your prints this summer be sure they lift your spirits and put a smile on your face! For myself when I feel good in what I am wearing then I tend to have a better day!! By better day I mean I take things that come my way with a positive spin, I look for the good!! Even if it’s a bad day I focus on the lesson learned!
Watering the flowers or hanging in the yard for the day? Choose a print that is a pick me up! Investing in comfy and bright dresses is always a good idea for the summer!! This time of the year the dress prints are fantastic, bright and colorful!!

Living a mile from the water (and the ice cream shop) is fun, and dangerous for my waist line!! Walking on long docks and enjoying the ocean breezes is ALWAYS a great time to inspire with fashion!!!
To enhance your look this summer season don’t forget to wear a hat or invest in some type of SPF sunscreen, PLEASE!! Being in my 40’s I know a thing or two about wrinkles! BUT do it in style!! Oversized hats are the rave and can add drama to a simple cute print dress!! (Or skirt made into a strapless!!)
Many summer maxi dresses come with cloth belts. Repurpose the belt as a headband to pop the print throughout the look. Pair it with some oversized shades and you bring a certain Je ne sais quoi to your outfit!!
And of course what would summer be without a rainbow print, right!!?? Rainbow fashion pops happiness!! June is Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) Pride month so why not show your support and wear your rainbow!
No Matter the print remember to wear what you want to wear!! Love the fact that your style is different from the rest!! Mixing up asthetics with your own twists is what will seperate you from the rest!!
