Summer print pops

Summer is meant for fun prints and lots of color! Whether it’s in the clothes or the accessories, prints make everything better! So here is a collection of prints to find, wear and love!

This Sara Joy kaftan is a must for summer! Whether running errands, heading to lunch after the beach or anyr fun summer activity. The color pops against the black creating movement in the print, I couldn’t help but pair the dollar store butterfly stickers as accessories by just adding a few bobby pins!

Try a bit of a hippy vibe with wide leg bell bottom floral neutral pants with a fun swirl of color for a head scarf. I love pulling colors from patterns to add in to my accessories.

This Tabitha Brown X Target collaboration kimono/dress is a must with the bright pop of orange/yellow, colorful flowers and adorable white polka-dots! Paired so well with all white accessories!

Go BIG or go home is what they say! So pairing this fab lemon print, another great piece from the Tabitha Brown X Target collab, with this stark black a white print was such a great marriage!

Do you do matchy matchy? I have to say..LOVE IT!! This jump suit is a repeat and from Walmart kids. If you are on the short side you can fit in some of the larger sized children’s clothes in lots of stores.

Sometimes a look comes together with opposites. Like light and dark. Pink, maroon..same family different shade!

A must in your wardrobe is a little jean vest!! Great for a little cover up especially if your in the a.c. and then heat! Pair it with a great black floral print.

So…….which prints will you be trying this summer!? Tag me @hinchology and #getahinch and #hinchology to be featured in my stories!

Back to school vibes!

Whether it’s the color, texture or shape EVERYONE has nostalgic back to school looks!  I can still remember how I loved the smell of my new leather sneakers and all the amazing art supplies that I had begged my mom for only to use them before school started!! So here is a round up of looks to spark your imagination to start your school year right!

Of course rainbows and butterflies come to mind. When I was little I would get fantastic rainbow erasers, pencils and socks! Feeling creative I went to the dollar store and found these great butterflies. Add some super glue and an amazon headband…wha la!!! If I were to wear this all day, reinforcement would be necessary!! (For my creative pics it worked great!) It really is as simple as that to transcend what you love into your wardrobe!!

One color I ALWAYS had to plug into my back to school line up was lavender!! Oh how I loved lavender!! Purple of any color has been Number one since I can remember! It would be the only crayon I would run out of! Seeing that we are getting into fall and winter, pleather or leather looks are great buys!! This was a thrifted NWT (new with tags) Zara dress…SCORE!!!

Comfort, easy and breezy is a Necessity! As we head back to school the heat is still there!! With no A.C. it’s important to feel as cool and comfy as possible! Look for a fun print in a light weight flowing fabric. The headscarf accent always feels like an artist note in any outfit!!

Let’s not forget to show up and show out as we head back ! What better look than a little suit swag!! This thrifted, new with tags, Michael Kors tie popped with the grey hues!! (and of course what color is it….thats right..my fav!)

Keeping with suit vibes and neutrals to pop this Alivia scarf! Absolutely obsessed with the amazing purpose behind their pieces!! Giving back and buying with purpose!  Talk about starting on the year off on the right foot!

So this year dig deep and remember what makes you happy!! Interpret what brings you joy through your looks!!

Linen & Lace

As the summer season is nearing the end I will gravitate to looks with layers!! I love linen and a bit of lace!! Linen gives great shape and form while lace adds texture to an everyday outfit!!! I do love summer, a favorite part of the year, however there’s nothing like fall dressing! So let’s get into the beauty of seasonal shifts and venture into these amazing fabrics!

I love the transition that comes with each season, especially when layering is involved!! I took my Bachelorette party dress, yes a few years old, and layered it with this fantastic up graded tee with dollar store beads and a fringe vest!! Look at your dress as a possible skirt or maybe a top!! When you can see your wardrobe worn in different ways the possibilities are endless.

Talk about a necessity! LBD.. (little black dress)! Most of us have more than one, however I am happy to say this linen has lasted the test of time!! Add pops of color at the waist with belts! Keeping everything a basic black accessory except one special piece creates a show stopper in the look!

Lace is a great detail added to simple pants or a skirt! Pair it with sneakers to be fall ready for pumpkin picking and colorful nature walks on trails uncharted.

These complimentary colors give that perfect fall vibe.

While transferring color pallets from summer to fall, neutrals are KEY to making a no effort look.

Late summer linen pops easily reinvent style norms and celebrate color! The hotter days and cooler nights make this dress a wonderful pairing with a denim jacket.

Thanks to Tina Demel and her wonderful boutique I am Absolutely obsessed with the evil eye! Anything eye related for that matter!!! Go black and white, tie up a color popped t-shirt for day to night!

So what linens and lace can you see sliding into your wardrobe while summer slips away?

Polka dot dot

Summer to me screams fun! Care free, not knowing what time it is and playing with prints! In this blog you will be seeing spots, dots that is!! See how polka dots play a whimsical approach to a simple print that anyone…yes even you, can wear!

Polka dots go with just about any pattern or print!! Think of these little, and sometimes big dots as a neutral!

Ah the marriage of stripes and dots...so simple and satisfying! Pop this combo with a great color!! These crayon pillars were created in my art club a few years back and I absolutely love them! Reminding me every time I show up to continue to be good, try hard and NEVER give up!!

Big or small dots always have a point of sophistication!

Talk about whimsy..pink AND polka dots yes please!!

Do polka dot camo …..black on black! Fun and sparkles!!

Metallic dots are probably my absolute favorite!! Whimsy on cloud 9!! Adore a navy too..it pops these dots so well and super easy to pair with any color!!

So shop your closet for dots, any dots, all dots and get inspired by pairing them with anything!! To me they are like a glue for any outfit!! They add a bit of whimsy and cheer!!

Fruity Frills

What is one of your favorite treats for summer? Of how I love my sweet treats, however there is nothing like fresh fruit in the summer!! So here is a spin on how fun, flirty and in season fruit prints are for the hot summer months!!

To have fun with fruit can be as simple as black and white! Add a piece of fruity fun jewelry! This Necklace I made out of Model Magic by Crayola! The pineapple earrings from Mure and Grand!

Sometimes fruit frills are hard to find in adult sizes!! Go to teen or kids! I found this colorful dress in the girls department at Walmart! I got the largest size available then layered it like a t-shirt!! Stay with colors in the print for pairing layers and accessories. Here’s a cute adult size fruit print dress!

I did the same thing here with this tank dress! Tuck it in for a top and pair with a like color for a monochromatic vibe.

So bananas about this print, sorry had to! This is an oldie but a goodie!! Found the exact dress here!!! Do you shop Poshmark, or Ebay? This is a great way to be a fashionista that is a conscious buyer!!
