Winter Wonders

Rounding up some of my favorite things to wear during the coldest of months! From textures like faux fur and tweed, to accessories that spark wonder, this is my round up of magic must haves to rock before spring layers start!! 

The puffer coats!!! Have you seen my take on the “Are you from New York Even” reel!! I couldn’t help myself…it made me belly laugh!! Anyway…ANY color works for a puffer ! (I only could find the short version of my puffer!!) They are a go to for the super cold days!

Faux fur is a favorite!! Especially when it comes to winter accessories!! They bring drama and ski lodge vibes to any look!! Fell in LOVE with the way a simple tank, and silk slip skirt ( which is going to be perfect for spring vibes) paired so well with a moto and this hat!!

Texture is where it’s at!! From feathers with tweed or lace, you can’t go wrong with adding lusious fabrics and details that will give you a winter way beyond normal!!! Start getting your color pops out there cause it’s everywhere this spring!!! 

Tights are terrific! These fleece lined tights are an absolute Gem for winter months!! They allow you to wear that short skirt that will be oh so popular this spring as a pop of fun now!

Capes..especially sweater capes are the best transitional piece from winter to spring!!!! A color combo that I can’t get enough of is this turqoise and red!! Yes please!!!! All the spring runways are showing color pops…so POP it!

Fancy short skirts are the perfect pairing for a sweater! Lifts your spirits for better weather on it’s way and introduces spring trends on the horizon! 

So as the season starts to show promise of nicer weather lets bust out these wonders before we say it’s too hot to wear them!!

Animal printed Fall

Now that the weather is changing, can’t you just smell the sugary sweetness in the air of cider donuts and apple pie? The trees are the TRUE stars of Fall! Their fantastic color show got me thinking if you can’t beat them join them! This week let’s camouflage ourselves with animal print to be among the most treasured colors of the year!

Match with the pink pops of summer flowers taking in the last bit of the seasons warmth for an easy and fun take on animal print with this J.Crew top and bottom set at a steel! A perfect pop for a very trendy color!

Wearing animal print can mean figuratively, actual animals in the print, or literally spots. Both create a mesmerizing pattern. Velvets and silks are textures that balance one another and are fall wardrobe necessities. Picking out a color from a print and popping it throughout the look completes it. These red shades are just the right pop and a great price!!

Wear animal print with a group of colors and sprinkle them head to toe!! Like magic the look and vibe will send you spinning into fall trends galore! No need to take away from any color or print when they are balanced throughout the outfit!! This Gucci brooch is a timeless piece that will bring all the fall colors together and will be a go to for seasons to come!!

Yes, you are seeing the print from my red velvet skirt look above in this dress. I couldn’t help myself!! I just adore the little zebra print and the bold pattern on the cuff that it had to come home with me. When a print has enough going on, a nude or neutral accessory choice, headband to booties, is always a good match! This Lele Sadoughi headband is THE perfect accessory to pair with any wild print!!

So excited to share this fantastic gifted mask from Bkeepernyc.com the design is adorned with bees!! Their gold chain is a nice added bit of bling but also serves a much needed purpose to never loose your mask during mask breaks in the classroom. Mixing animal prints is a wonderful way to be season trendy. This cheetah blazer is a great addition to anyone’s fall look. Black, white and beige work well with a busy print top and bootie match.

A tulle skirt layered under a color animal print dress, a belt to cinch the waist, instant head turner and unexpected texture pop!! Pair black accessories to help keep the focus on the color print! This pink cheetah teared dress is a perfect pairing with a collared shirt or jean jacket, to be pumpkin patch ready!

And of course being cover head to toe in animal print is really stepping in to the wild side! For those of you that are trying this look find a small and big print to pair together for it to be a hit! This Target cheetah dress is a great start to create this head to toe look.

Spring Camo

Spring is one of my favorite times of the year! It lets everyone know that the better weather is coming!!! The sun and warm breezes leave you feeling refreshed!! The flowers, colors and smells in the spring are signs of a better tomorrow. I am pretty sure that we can all use a dose of that!!

Putting on florals and pastel are always a pick me up this time of the year. If you don’t know me by now I LOVE to re-purpose different pieces of clothing to create new looks. A perfect example of that is the skirt above that I wore as a top!! Do you ever mix up your wardrobe to suit your wants!?

Spring vibes don’t just come from flower prints, they come from colors!! In everyday activities its your time to shine! A bike ride is the perfect time to be fabulous!! Try colors that you normally would sneer at. Play with color values! Some of the best outfits that I have tried came from a thought that it wouldn’t work.

Color play is something that should be used everyday when you get dressed. The colors that one person relates to in a season may differ from what others consider a seasonal color. That is what makes fashion so much fun!! The striped pastel dress below screamed “Spring time is here!” so loud that I had to take it home!! What colors speak spring to you!?

Mixing colors can enhance patterns. Pairing colors from within the print can really pop!! Don’t forget the fun details. Add a pin to a headband to create a custom crown. We all need to wear one now and then.

The most important thing to remember with fashion is to have fun and listen to what makes you comfortable and confident. When picking out outfits don’t be afraid to change your seasonal camouflage.

It’s always good to think that beauty is in the eye of the beholder!! If you like the color combo or print mix wear it!! Now is also a great time to put on your tie dye!! For me tie dye works all year round, but if you need a season to be the reason…. Spring is it!!

As The days become longer and warmer get those bright colors out of your closet!! Feel enlightened and refreshed that new days are coming with better weather!!
