Holiday thanks

As the clock ticks down around the world for Christmas I wanted to send out a special holiday thanks blog to you all!

I appreciate each and every one of you that have supported hinchology and all it has to offer! Whether it’s laughing with or at me, lol when I do a voice over, finding thrills in my frills, so not trying to rhyme, or maybe it’s the truth in my words of life lessons learned.

So I wanted to take a moment and say THANK YOU! From the bottom of my heart thank you for accepting me for me! For all my quirks, for all my sparkle, all my color pops!

So this blog is a thank you note to my fam, and a photo dump for the holidays! It’s last minute but that’s OK! Let’s shop your closet!! Look for like colors in pieces you already have in your closet or similar combinations that can covert into a new style same color pallet!

Let’s start with comfy cozy! Jeans, pleather leggings, ski sweaters and kimonos all the way! Dress them up a little with a pleated skirt. Have fun with metallics and details!

Don’t forget to add in some sparkle and metallics. There’s no right or wrong way!

Last but not least get your prints on! Plaid on plaid, polka dots, don’t stop there play and have fun! If it makes YOU feel good then that’s what to wear!

When pairing prints remember these few rules of thumb, go big and small, matchy matchy or geometric and organic!

Cheers to dressing in what you want and a very happy holiday!

Until next style,

Xoxo,

Nicole

Flower power

What would spring be without flowers and floral prints!! Those warm winds that hit you and get your soul stirring with excitement for future fun in the sun!! The smell of blooming flowers is always exhilirating.  Just like a flower, we are fragile, we need love, self care and an enviornment that allows us to grow!! So breath in the crisp air, learn to be you and keep at it! The best thing to happen may be just an email away!

A floral print with dragons to kick off this blog! Add diamond accessories head to toe!! Keep the textures similar for a seamless look.

Tired of feeling like you have nothing to wear?  You have to look at each piece in a different way.  This long sleeved bowed neck dress with a frilly tank scrunched up with a hair tie..add a blazer and  everything comes together.  Don’t get stuck in thinking there’s only one way to wear something.

A little retro floral print gives a whimsical and fun take on a 70’s vibe.  Love my “know your designer” earrings by my girls Cece at Jewels by Joan.  Pearls are always classic and in style!

Or how about a flash dance vibe to get things done! Dressing down can still be cute!!!

Black accessories frame a flower so well like a still life in a painting….lol I really loved how the flowers looked against the white tights.

A literal take on floral with a larger than life 3-D flower! make the color pop with gray or muted tones. Remind yourself to style your accessories in creative ways! Like this belt that is originally used as a purse strap!

Baroque florals give a regal vibe, but make it spring with an oversized jean jacket!!

Holiday vibes

With the holidays around the corner my mind goes to sparkle, print fun and plaids! What is your holiday pick me up look? Warm sweaters? Pajamas? Or do you like holiday glamour?

Lets start it off with some glam. Found this fantastic tiered green polka dot skirt in the clearance at Target and had too. It is a bit big on me but I raised it up like a strapless with a sheer layer!! Don’t forget to try pieces in different ways!! You never know what you will get if you don’t try!! This tiered skirt from NY&co would be a great holiday vibe or all year round look!!

Right now I can’t get enough of plaid for winter looks!! For me plaid goes beyond the holidays!! Especially when its a popping red! Do you gravitate towards brights in the winter to uplift your spirits? I do!!! Try this fantastic poncho from Talbots for a great winter pick me up but keeps you nice a warm with the added faux fur detail!!

Now for those of you that will be doing a, dare I say, Zoom holiday party layer a sparkle tank with a plaid collared shirt for a shine factor!! Try this plaid shirt from J.Crew at a really great price right now and layer with this tank that comes in multiple colors!!

For those of you that liked the red cape above but feel it’s a bit to holiday vibe for the rest of the winter months go with a white or cream print!! Try this Shein cape with houndstooth that will style you to spring!!

Sometimes we dress up to decorate, or put on a cute dress and walk around the house, I call this grown up dress up time!! Come on you all know you do this once in a while!! LOL This little dress I found at Walmart in the kids section became a perfect pajama to decorate in and adored the light blue and red combo!! Try this cute red Pajama dress from Belk to look pretty and feel comfy!!

Pop a color like this purple blouse!! Remember that black and white goes with everything and is so versatile for the entire year!! I kept this tie that was my sons when he was little and loved how the big check went so well with the houndstooth. (Print mix always works with big and small prints paired) Anyone else super obsessed with houndstooth? Try this great purple top from Express paired with this amazing houndstooth skirt from Banana Republic Factory!

Let’s end todays blog with a rainbow of sparkle!! I love using other wise fancy dresses layered with bow blouses for a more work wearable look. Try this dress striped dress from Souther Fried Chics layered with this pink bow blouse at Macy’s to make an impact and uplift and show your holiday/New years look!!

Excited to see all your wonderful looks!! Feel inspired and want to connect #getahinch and @hinchology!

Remember to smile, have patience, know that all it takes to make an impact is to be kind!

Until next style!!

Animal printed Fall

Now that the weather is changing, can’t you just smell the sugary sweetness in the air of cider donuts and apple pie? The trees are the TRUE stars of Fall! Their fantastic color show got me thinking if you can’t beat them join them! This week let’s camouflage ourselves with animal print to be among the most treasured colors of the year!

Match with the pink pops of summer flowers taking in the last bit of the seasons warmth for an easy and fun take on animal print with this J.Crew top and bottom set at a steel! A perfect pop for a very trendy color!

Wearing animal print can mean figuratively, actual animals in the print, or literally spots. Both create a mesmerizing pattern. Velvets and silks are textures that balance one another and are fall wardrobe necessities. Picking out a color from a print and popping it throughout the look completes it. These red shades are just the right pop and a great price!!

Wear animal print with a group of colors and sprinkle them head to toe!! Like magic the look and vibe will send you spinning into fall trends galore! No need to take away from any color or print when they are balanced throughout the outfit!! This Gucci brooch is a timeless piece that will bring all the fall colors together and will be a go to for seasons to come!!

Yes, you are seeing the print from my red velvet skirt look above in this dress. I couldn’t help myself!! I just adore the little zebra print and the bold pattern on the cuff that it had to come home with me. When a print has enough going on, a nude or neutral accessory choice, headband to booties, is always a good match! This Lele Sadoughi headband is THE perfect accessory to pair with any wild print!!

So excited to share this fantastic gifted mask from Bkeepernyc.com the design is adorned with bees!! Their gold chain is a nice added bit of bling but also serves a much needed purpose to never loose your mask during mask breaks in the classroom. Mixing animal prints is a wonderful way to be season trendy. This cheetah blazer is a great addition to anyone’s fall look. Black, white and beige work well with a busy print top and bootie match.

A tulle skirt layered under a color animal print dress, a belt to cinch the waist, instant head turner and unexpected texture pop!! Pair black accessories to help keep the focus on the color print! This pink cheetah teared dress is a perfect pairing with a collared shirt or jean jacket, to be pumpkin patch ready!

And of course being cover head to toe in animal print is really stepping in to the wild side! For those of you that are trying this look find a small and big print to pair together for it to be a hit! This Target cheetah dress is a great start to create this head to toe look.

Will you be showing your wild side this fall with animal prints?

Feeling inspired or want to inspire? #getahinch and @nhinchology to be a part of a fashion story!!

Until next style!
