It’s black, it’s white and everything in between!

Basics!….what comes to mind when you think of basics? I truly think of tank tops and leggings, especially for the cooler months ahead! Black, white, grey and a touch of everything else! This blog will be a great way to use a basic in an elevated look! Black and white is anything but boring!

Love adding a comfy dress with a bit of bling! Think of it as a long graphic Tee X 1,000! Fun cute looks that are effortless and feel soft and cozy! Sometimes looks can be simple but yet pulled together!

Grey is a hue, and basic, that I NEED in my wardrobe!! Especially in these pants which never disappoint!  I really loved how this rust color top went with the color pallet! This is a perfect example of everything in between!

A Black and white print can go a long way!

I styled it several different ways for you to see how a skirt, that’s right I said skirt, can be transformed into different looks by wearing it with other pieces !

Add some Capri pants and a belt for a long strapless top look.

Tuck in the skirt to the pants, add a fun matching belt to cinch the waist!

OR wear it as it was meant to be, a skirt and add Hues of color to make the skirt a focal point!

For those of you that have been in this community for a while know that I adore a great neck bow! Meet Betty, this print is a great way to enter the school year and celebrate labor day!! Tying this ribbon scarf to the chain keeps your neck a bit cooler! Of course in the fall and winter months easily paired with collard shirt!

Thanksgiving Attire

Let’s face it Thanksgiving may look a bit different this year, but does that mean you can’t dress for the occasion? Get out your fun turkey pins (if that’s your thing) bring out the fun fall color pallets while you dust off the China! Let’s be thankful in style!

Go to basic black to start you outfit. Don’t overthink it!! Pair a black top with a black boot!! Add a skirt that has fall vibes like browns and warm prints or solids. Try this plaid skirt from Talbots. A little colder than expected add black tights…a bit too warm…add a thinner top like a sheer or lace blouse top from Express! Always shop your closet first!! Sometimes you forget what you have!!

Traveling? (Of course following all guidlines) and want to do it like a Rockstar? Go dressed down and comfy with basic black leggings and a band tee like this fantastic fashion fundamentals tee created by the fabulous Simply Audree Kate! Add a shoe or scarf pop of cheetah. Give some color to the look with your bag.

Color combos like reds and pinks with basic black or jeans create a fun and chic look!! Use your summer capri pants with tall socks and open toe heels for a fun trend! These Gucci socks are on my Christmas list to wear with long skirts and heels, giving a look of stockings for half the cost!!!

Keep your cool this holiday by adding neutral tones with greens, blues and turquoise. Color gems for sparkle!! Textures are all the range in fall so have fun with knits, tweeds and sheers!! More layers the merrier!! Try this beautiful sweater with a light neutral tone pallet!

It’s time to take your tartan out! Pair it with grey and rust for a new and fun fall combo. Add a few black pops….boom ready to be stuffed like a turkey!!! These stretch waist leggings would be great on Thanksgiving day!!

Faux or the real deal?

Colder weather will bring more layers and textures!! Do you go for the real deal when it comes to leather or are you a faux leather lover? I LOVE both! I have both, although my faux doesn’t last as long as the real deal. I would suggest to go with faux if there is a trend you want to try or its too cute to pass up!!! It won’t last forever but it will save you a bit of money!

Faux leather pleats are a must have to upgrade your texture game! Pleats are mesmerizing and eye catching! Pleats can give a prim and proper vibe although if done in leather it kicks the cool factor up a bit! Express has a fantastic faux leather pleated skirt with amazing pockets and belt details! With the weather fluctuating vests are a great investment for fall. This faux leather moto vest added a chic new age take on layers. Gives a biker, apocalyptic, rocker chic vibe!!! Obsessed with how the pink pops the texture and keeps it girlie. Fadcloset has a real deal vest that is stunning or you can go with the faux vest from Shein.

Gold faux jacket is a smart investment to add a bit of metallic with out breaking the bank! This luxurious and rich tone is irresistible. Metallics can definitely be a neutral, match the accessories! Layer with pieces that have similar tones like this dragon embroidered bustier. Farfetch has a splurge for a show stopping gold leather jacket! Try Shein’s gold faux jacket for some fun!

To wrap it up I have to leave you with the real deal!! This fendi leather skirt is over twenty years old and look as good as the day I bought it. This to me is a piece that can be worn for generations of fashionistas to come.

Faux is fun and oh the cool textures you can add into your wardrobe, however if you can do the real…DO IT!! Time will prove that Leather is here to stay..literally!
